Depression often feels like a weight that can't be set down. Its heavy and often hard to move. It feels as though we are alone and can tell no one. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Often Depression does not come alone but joins forces with anxiety to keep us silent, to keep us in our heads and living in fear if we tell people the truth. The truth that we feel hopeless, frustrated, alone, that they will judge us and we will be worse off than we are now.
Here at Imagine we want you to know YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We are a judgment free practice willing to meet you with open arms and an open mind. We are real people that work with real people...
We encourage you to step out of the darkness and take off the weights and sit a while.
Anxiety can show up for all types of reasons. It is often a surprise to people but anxiety can be healthy. Unfortunately it often shows up in unhealthy ways, such as fear based messages: "you can't do it," "if you (blank) a terrible thing will happen," or "why bother you're going to mess it all up." Sometimes it's more like pondering and questioning everything that happens. If you have any of these or other fear based messages running through your mind or get stuck with an inability to move forward due to the "what-ifs", it's time to seek help.
In therapy you can address the fear and find its cause. You can gain the power to take back your life in a positive way.
